Snow and Comfort

Today, it snowed in our glorious little mountain town. Prompting me to change the outfit that I had already picked out for myself.

5 inches of snow doesn't sound like much. But when I park on top of a hill, and have to walk down that same steep hill, fashion is the last thing on my mind. I'm just hoping to get to work in one piece. And hopefully, stay warm and dry.

Which leads me to one of my favorite pieces of clothing. This sweater that my mom bought me. Not terribly expensive. But it so warm! All I had to do was style it right for work.

When I first got this sweater, I thought, it's so comfy. But definitely not the cutest thing in my closet. Oh, but when Thanksgiving rolled around, this baby was my saving grace! I wore some leggings, a long t shirt, this little guy, and some boots. Add in a few cute and colorful accessories, and I was reading for some turkey eating!

3 plates of food, and half a pumpkin pie later, I was so grateful for this sweater. Stylish, simple, warm. And so comfortable!

For work today, I paired it with a pair of skinny jeans, riding boots, a plain white (extra long) t shirt, some gold chandelier earrings, and a cranberry scarf. I can't tell you how many compliments I've gotten. People love this sweater! And I haven't been this comfy at work in a very long time! I'm ready for my nap now. :)

Family Time

I'm pretty sure that I mentioned it, but I'm visiting my sister and her family. Just a short trip, on my day off. My hubby couldn't come, because he had to work. So I made the 90 minute drive into the city alone.

This is really what I needed. Some time with my nieces and nephew. I took care of them today while my sister and BIL did some Christmas shopping. Which I hear, was definitely needed! They had only bought 2 presents so far.

Back at their house, it was all glitter and glue with Lauren. And lots of kissing and cuddling with the twins. We might have also played dress up. And had a blast with all of my long necklaces. But you know what, sometimes you just need to get away from your day to day.

This time of year especially, it's all about family. I enjoyed just just hanging out with my favorite kiddos. Watching The Little Mermaid for the 1000th time. At least. And sharing some pizza with Lauren. The twins are still doing the breast milk and baby food thing.

And I'm pretty sure that Manders and Billy enjoyed the alone time. They even managed to go have dinner together. I'm super glad. As parents, they need that. I just wished that we all lived closer. So we could do this more. But I definitely enjoyed my day. And I'll be sad in the morning ,when I'm driving back home. But I do miss my hubby!

Lastly, my sister talked me into joining twitter. You can find me here. You know, if you want to follow me. Happy Hump Day!

Vanity

My hubby keeps asking me what I want for Christmas. I still haven't figured that one out. Other than that cute jacket I keep seeing at work. :)

Then tonight as I was packing (I'm going to go see my sister this week,) I realized what I wanted...

Yes, my sister might be the "Makeup Queen" of the family. But I've always wanted a vanity. ALWAYS! When I was little, I would sneak into Manders' room to play on her vanity. Heck, even my little niece has a vanity.

So honey, this is it. All that I want. It doesn't have to be this specific one. Just a cute vanity. Where I can feel like a woman and get ready in the morning.

Nude Shoes

I was a little shocked when I looked in my closet this morning. I saw 6 pairs of nude high heels staring back at me. 6 pairs people! When did that happen? And somehow, I still ended up wearing my favorite ones. The pair that has the tap missing on the right shoe.

I must admit it though. Nude shoes go with everything! And they make you look so good, when you pair them with a dress or skirt. All of a sudden your legs look 10 miles long!

While at work today, I was tempted by these bad boys. My boss was wearing them. With a simple LBD. Oh but they looked so chic. And when she mentioned that they are from Target, even I had to stop for a moment.

Yes, these bad boys will soon be mine. Why? Will my other nude shoes get jealous? They might. But a girl can never have too many nude shoes. Especially a pump like this. Timeless. Go get yours!

Beauvoir Chair

I'm just in love with this chair! The perfect girly addition to my desk. Hmm, should I ask Santa for this chair? Or should I talk my hubby, into the 90 minute drive to our nearest Target? I think we could make a fun day out of shopping in "The City." Oh this chair! And only $150. So worth it!

Christmas Dress

To get into the holiday spirit, I thought I'd start searching for a Christmas dress. My hubby works for one of the biggest companies out here. That says a lot, since we live in a tiny resort town. Yesterday, we got the invitation. To the annual Christmas party. It's definitely a dressy affair, but also conservative.

This is the cute dress that I found. The Sangria Seamed Satin Dress, from Dillard's. Perfect! Festive red, and a bit conservative. At $80, it's a sure buy for me! Because I also have a $100 gift certificate that I won 2 months ago.

I called my local Dillard's, and I put this dress on hold. We're heading into town next week. And I'm really excited to pick up my dress. Now, what shoes to wear?

Hi! I'm Lizzie :)

Hi! I'm Lizzie. A Newlywed. 1/2 of the "Lovebirds." Yes, I married my hubby in June. And we've been so happy in love! Just knowing that Carlos is going to love me forever, that's honestly all that I need in life. :)

I'm a lover of fashion. I work to shop. Yes, I said it. I work so that I can shop. My sister has always been the makeup gal, while I was more into the clothes. I have never cared that I live in a small town. I dress up to go to the Post Office. Or even to go to the local dollar store.

Speaking of my big sister, she's the one that finally talked me into doing this blog thing. We live about 90 minutes from each other. But I miss her so much! Manders is a happily married woman and a mommy to 3! Yes, they're all cuties!!!

That's all I can think of at the moment. And my lunch break is almost up. But come back. I promise to get better. Oh, if I hadn't mentioned it, I work in a cute little boutique. It's so much fun to come to work everyday! Happy Wednesday!
